The candidate for ASB President is Rianna Marquez.
Hello, students & staff of Dana Middle School! My name is Rianna Marquez and for my eighth-grade year, I'm hoping to become your Associated Student Body President. After running for ASB four times, I am here once more with pride, knowing I can be your next school president. While writing this statement, I asked some peers how to describe me. Some responses were diligent, energetic, and compassionate. These qualities could be seen in any leader; this is why I believe I'm qualified to be ASB President. Other than this, I am experienced & responsible. Through middle school, I was vice president for 4 semesters in sixth & seventh grade. This is more ASB experience than any other incoming eighth-grader, showing that I know the roles of all positions and understand how to be in the president's roll. I continued to balance this with my extracurriculars and still maintained decent grades each semester. To add on, I also have several ideas for the incoming school year, including giving everyone a voice in the Spirit/Leadership class regularly. More importantly, I'm willing to seek out your ideas and discuss them with the ASB team for an optimal school year. Thank you.

The candidates for Historian are Cecilia Chen and Ariel Lew.
Hi Mariners & teachers! I’m Cecilia Chen and I’m an incoming 8th grader, I’m running for Historian in the Associated Student Body. Although this is my first time running ASB, I was a Spirit member which means I perfectly know how each role in ASB and spirit class work. I possess enough leadership skills in order to become an ASB officer — I’m placed as the leader in  every group project that I have done, and I completed them outstandingly; most importantly, I’m not a dictator but I listen to every idea & thought that my group mates come up with and I care for every member in my group, and that’s what makes me a great leader. And of course, I see myself having the passion of becoming the Historian since I have a strong interest in photography, thus I’ll have a fun time as the Historian, to record important moments in the school. Out of all those reasons listed above, I believe I’m the most suitable Historian, who definitely has the ability to handle ASB jobs competently. If you vote for me as your Historian, you’ll get a perfect Historian who’ll definitely try her best to improve the school and ASB!
Hello fellow Dana students, staff, and principal, Dr. Hacking. My name is Ariel Lew and I am running for the position of historian. “Why should you vote for me?” you ask, well, I have some traits that are good for ASB. I have past leadership experience as a class president and last year’s historian. I also have a natural passion for art and photography, which will be useful for creating the historian’s book. You should elect me for historian because of my responsibility, trustworthiness, and leadership. Aside from just doing my job as a historian, I will also take any of your ideas into account and try to make them a reality. Vote for Ariel, gain clarity for 2020.
