Right At School Informational Meeting
The Right At School Community Informational Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Holly Avenue Elementary School Auditorium. Right At School is the new before and after-school program that we will be transitioning to in January 2017. Read more here.
Resiliency Community Forum

Horacio Sanchez, a well-known leader in mental health and resiliency, will be the keynote speaker for our annual Community Forum/Family Engagement Night “Resiliency.” The Community Forum, which will be free of charge, will be held on Thursday, October 6, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center. Mr. Sanchez will be discussing resiliency for students, maximizing brain function, helping students deal with stress, and optimal health for student success. Read more here.

Peer Tutoring

Peer tutoring begins on Tuesday, September 20 and will run all year. It takes place in the Dana library on Mondays from 3:05-3:50, Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00, and Thursdays from 3:05-3:50. Peer tutoring is free and you do not need to sign up in advance. Just show up ready to learn! For more information and to view the flier, CLICK HERE.

Snack Bar
ASB will be hosting a snack shack fundraiser for the upcoming home football and volleyball games on 9/13, 9/15, 9/20, 9/22, 10/4, & 10/6. All items will be sold out of the Ship Shop after school. You can buy cold Arizona Ice Tea and Gatorade drinks, Hershey candies, Kit Kat bars, Reeses peanut butter cups, Sour Skittles, Takis, and Goldfish crackers for $1.00 each. In addition, you can buy hot cheese nachos with a variety of toppings including chili, grated cheese, and jalepenos for $2.00. Please support your ASB! All the proceeds from these fundraisers will go back to ASB to allow us to host events like dances, Red Ribbon Week, assemblies, and theme days that benefit ALL students at Dana.
Pali Leadership Camp

On November 7, 2016, Dana’s eighth grade students and their teachers will depart for three days of leadership training in the San Bernadino mountains! If you still haven’t signed up yet, it is not too late, but all forms must be completed and payments received IN FULL by October 6. Health forms come directly from Pali after an initial payment has been received.  

When: November 7 - 9, 2016
Cost: $315 all-inclusive; must be paid in full by October 6

Catalina Science Camp

On October 11, 2016, Dana’s seventh grade students and their teachers will depart for four days of science on Catalina Island! If you still haven’t signed up yet, it is not too late, but please do so by August 31! Catalina is only roughly 40 days away and counting! To sign up, make a payment in the office with Ms. Tan.

When: October 11-14, 2016
Cost: $450 all-inclusive
     For students who received a phone call home, this is due FRIDAY, 9/16!

PERMISSION SLIP for ALL 7th graders is due to your science teacher on Tuesday, 9/13.

Please make sure of the following before turning the slip in:
1) The top is cut off and KEPT AT HOME
2) Parents INITIAL one of the health needs* boxes
3) Parents CHECK MARK the box below the health needs section, giving permission for child to attend.

*HEALTH NEEDS are for any kind of medication, over the counter or not.
For example, Tylenol, Advil, Claritin, and Dramamine are all required to be listed, and MUST be written onto the green medication form for a doctor's signature.
Medication and green med. forms are due to Ms. Nelson in Room 10 on Wednesday, 9/28.

Outdoor Science School

Attention 6th graders- OSS is fast approaching! We are going back to Arrowhead Ranch for one of the most memorable experiences you will have while here at Dana. We leave on Monday, November 14 and return Friday, November 18. The camp is $315 and payments are due by Friday, October 21. Turn in all money to Ms. Tan in the office. See your science teachers for any additional questions. Don't miss out on this amazing camp experience!
