Monday, August 21, 2017: Sign ups begin for all open ASB offices in the office on the front counter. Open positions include 6th grade Vice President and 6th & 7th grade School Site Council Representatives
Thursday, August 31, 2017: Sign ups close for ASB offices at 3:15 pm
Friday, September 1, 2017: Mandatory ASB candidate meeting during Advisory/Reading in room 10. Rules and Regulations will be discussed and all necessary forms will be given out at this meeting.
Monday, September 11, 2017: Signed petitions, grade check forms, posters, and speeches (scripts) due to Mrs. Nelson in room 10 by 8:30 a.m. A typed copy of your speech (script) must be turned in on an 8 ½” x 11” piece of paper. You must also have a copy for yourself. This speech must be written as you will give it during your broadcast recording session. No changes can be made to your speech. No exceptions! Posters will hang in the main hall on Monday-Friday of election week. Please take down your poster on Friday right after school if you wish to save it. All remaining posters will be thrown away.
Tuesday, September 12, 2017 to Wednesday, September 13, 2017: Mandatory election broadcast taping for all candidates will begin. Please report to room 8 during your assigned time for taping. You will only be allowed 2 takes during your session. Please make sure you have a copy of your speech to read from...BE PREPARED!!!!
Thursday, September 14, 2017: Candidate speeches will be viewed by Advisory classes and posted on the Dana Web Page. Voting will take place after speeches have been viewed by the student body on Thursday, September 14. Electronic voting will be opened up during Advisory period on Thursday and remain open until Friday, September 15 at 1:00 pm for all students (current 6/7th grade only) to vote. Results of the election will be announced in the office at 3:10 p.m. on Friday, September 15 by Mr. Hunter. If a run-off election is needed, voting will continue to take place during Advisory until a candidate is elected.
